Commonly asked questions about garage doors and motors

Can my garage door be painted?

Yes. 100-percent acrylic latex paint.

Can I replace a section in my garage door or do I have to replace the whole door?

Yes and No, it depends on the damage.

Call Overhead Door of Waterbury™ 860-274-3332 and we will have our sales professional

come out and give you an estimate on your situation.

What is R-value, and how does it benefit me?

R-value is a standardized measurement of thermal efficiency.

The higher the R-value, the greater the garage door’s insulating properties.

What is the difference between the Screw, Belt and Chain drive garage door openers?

Well, the Screw Drive is powerful, fast and quiet. Maximum power for heavy doors.

Belt Drive has a quiet and smooth performance. Ideal for garages above living areas.

Chain Drive is rugged and reliable. Suitable for most garage doors.

How can I get a new remote control for my opener?

The first step is you need to determine the opener name and model number. If your opener was manufactured before 1980, then you have an analog-type opener for which we no longer carry remotes. If that is the case, you need to purchase a new motor.
